Technological progress could accelerate beyond humanity’s ability

To predict, regulate, or even fully comprehend.

That possibility explains why some experts advocate

Stronger safeguards, independent oversight, and even emergency “kill switches.”

Others insist we are still far from it.

The disagreement is revealing.

The world’s most powerful technology is advancing,

Even as its creators differ on where it is heading.

That calls neither for panic nor complacency, but informed vigilance.

The danger is not the arrival of ‘singularity’,

But humanity sleepwalking into a future it does not understand fully,

Only to become a victim of its own invention.
