“Geo-Siberia” in new format

The international congress and specialized exhibition in the field of geodesy, cartography, geology, geophysics, land management, land and property cadastres, geoinformation, Earth remote sensing, forestry management, environmental monitoring, specialized instrument-making.
Since 2005 the Siberian State Academy of Geodesy is responsible for the management of the international scientific congress and specialized exhibition “Geo-Siberia” and has made the huge work on its organization and carrying out. From September 2011 the exhibition and scientific congress have been renamed as “Interexpo Geo-Siberia” that more exactly reveals the content and spirit of this forum.

For this period “Geo-Siberia” has become the largest event in Russia event which is visited by both Russian leading scientists and professionals and foreign as well as world leaders in the development of state-of-the-art measuring instruments, procedures for data processing and technologies for industrial purposes. “Geo-Siberia” is supported by the German Association for Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management (DVW), International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), International Cartographic Association (ICA) and others. During round-table discussions on plenary sessions the most urgent problems of geo-industry were considered and the major recommendations for its development were given. “Geo-Siberia” has a strong support from the administration of the plenipotentiary of the President to the Siberian District, Municipal Administration of Novosibirsk, and the Presidium of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS).

The new name of the scientific congress and exhibition “Interexpo Geo-Siberia” reflects more precisely the forum’s current state and dynamics.

“Interexpo Geo-Siberia” conception holding by the former team is to maintain the achievements of “Geo-Siberia” strengthening the participation of international organizations, developing new methods and technologies, involving the leading companies from Russia and foreign countries as well as Asian countries. One of the primary goals of organizers is to make “Interexpo Geo-Siberia” platform as a venue for leading scientists and professionals, demonstrations of present-day developments in the field of measurements and their promotion in geo-industry to solve the problems of environmental management, exploration and development of mineral recourses, construction and maintenance of engineering structures, etc.
