bitsensing and IKIO team up to revolutionize India’s highways
South Korean radar technology firm bitsensing has inked a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with India’s IKIO Technologies. The signing, which took place during the 2025 ITS Asia-Pacific Forum in Suwon, marks a significant milestone for India’s intelligent transportation system (ITS) ambitions.
This landmark agreement signals bitsensing’s official debut in the Indian market, where infrastructure is evolving at a breakneck pace. Together with IKIO, the radar innovators are set to introduce AI-powered traffic monitoring across expressways, municipal corridors, and smart cities—beginning with a high-impact pilot on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
India’s roads have long been the arteries of the nation’s economic pulse, yet congestion and traffic-related incidents still cost billions annually. Enter bitsensing, armed with its radar-based TIMOS sensor and AI-enabled analytics engine, TraXight. These solutions, tried and tested in South Korea and Italy, promise to elevate India’s road networks with unparalleled visibility, precision, and speed.
The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway—spanning over 1,300 kilometres—is set to become the showcase corridor, integrating real-time traffic tracking, average speed detection, and even congestion prediction, using bitsensing’s TIMOS radar combined with edge computing and AI.
