TomTom debuts PND sales in Morocco

Feb 2010 | No Comment

TomTom is starting the commercialization of its Personal Navigation Devices in Morocco. TomTom is entering the market with two products: the mid-range TomTom XL (including maps from Morocco and Europe) and the entry-level TomTom Start (including maps from Morocco). Both products have a free two years map update. These devices will be distributed by MCI, a leading distributor in Africa, and sold through major consumer electronics retailers across Morocco. TomTom subsidiary Tele Atlas is offering Moroccan maps since September 2008. Tele Atlas has released these digital maps in partnership with CADTECH, a Moroccan company specializing in GIS. This map database encompasses over 67,000 km of roads, including Morocco’s largest cities such as Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech and Agadir.
