Latitude introduces emergency location safety feature

Latitude Technologies released a configurable “G” switch accelerometer to the UDG100 and S100/S200 SkyNode product lines. The configurable six-axis accelerometer will have basic factory settings mirroring the common aircraft emergency locator transmitter but can be customised to user defined settings. The technology marriage allows aircraft to be tracked from take-off through customised flight profiles to the exact geographic position of a gravity triggered event. In the event of an emergency a customised message can be sent via email through Latitude’s web based Sentinel Service to stakeholders, emergency services or any other recipient designated by the customer’s system administrator. In addition to latitude and longitude position information the SkyNode products store up to 2 hours of high resolution data that can be used for accident cause analysis.
