Blom and Microsoft renew and extend agreement

Mar 2010 | No Comment

Blom has renewed and extended the existing agreement with Microsoft to 2014. The agreement allows Microsoft the right to use Blom’s database of oblique aerial images – RealImages™. The RealImages™ database is based on Pictometry technology, and is an extensive library of oblique aerial images, covering more than 1,100 cities in Europe. The contract has a value between USD 10 and USD 14 million from January 2010 until end of the contract period.

“Blom is very satisfied being one of the main providers of services to Microsoft’s Bing Maps™, especially with their increased focus on their online map solution. Blom believe the contract forms an excellent basis for further expansion of the cooperation with Microsoft in a market with a very exciting future”, says Nils Karbø, Chief Technical Officer Blom.
