37th Asian Conference on Remote sensing – ACRS in Sri Lanka

The 37th Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS) will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 17th to 21st of October 2016. ACRS has always been a sound platform in sharing latest geospatial technologies among professionals, researchers, academia, scientists, industries and well-wishers related to Remote Sensing. The main theme of the 37th conference is “Spatial Data Infrastructure for Sustainable Development”.
The Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS) is an annual event spearheaded by Asian Association of Remote Sensing (AARS); the Asia’s largest society of remote sensing scientists and professionals. One of major activities of ACRS held yearly is to promote Remote Sensing to collect updated spatial information in the world. As Asia is one of the most emerging regions in the world, remote sensing is one of the geospatial technologies that can be utilized to mitigate various environmental issues.
Sri Lanka, as the hosting country of the ACRS is entering a new era of development, availability of up-to-date spatial information has become a vital source in decision making and development planning.
The Surveyor General of Sri Lanka, as the Chairman of the Local organizing Committee, organizes the event a successful, remarkable and memorable occasion for everyone and warmly welcome all to the 37th ACRS conference this year in the blooming city of Colombo.
