The GISRAfrica conference is a series in Africa nations. GISRAfrica conference is aimed at the professional practice, government and academic community in the geospatial technology. It would attract delegates from all parts of the continent from disciplines including and not limited to Geography, Computer Science, Urban Planning, Archaeology, Geology,Life Sciences, Geomatics and Engineering.

Aims of the conference:

  • to act as a focus for GIS research in Africa
  • to provide a mechanism for the announcement and publication of GIS research
  • to act as an interdisciplinary forum for the discussion of research ideas
  • to promote active collaboration amongst researchers and professionals using the GIS technology from diverse parent disciplines
  • to provide a framework in which postgraduate students can see their work in a national context
  • to evaluate the use and application of GIS in Africa
